We are living in a pressure cooker
that may be just about to explode.
We see this situation every day as luxury automobiles drive past people holding signs begging for work. More than 60% of those who do have jobs are living paycheck to paycheck as inflation drives the cost of food and everyday necessities higher and higher. Meanwhile, the rich are getting richer. Over the past 40 years, the average incomes of corporate chief executive officers have jumped 940% while the average worker’s paycheck is up only 12%. The top 1% of American households by income – the elite – hold 32.3% of the country’s wealth, while the bottom 50% hold just 2.6%.
